Wednesday Evening – Monday Morning

About the Experience

This 5-day immersive workshop captures Atlanta in its purest form — from its soulful history and artistic streets to its hidden gardens and waterfalls. You will photograph architectural contrasts, movement, and the emotion of place, learning to translate every scene into a powerful visual story.

Who Can Join

Open to all levels — from smartphone creators to experienced photographers. The emphasis is on creative seeing, light control, and storytelling through color, texture, and rhythm.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Wednesday Evening / Arrival
• Check-in at Atlanta hotel.
• Orientation and group introduction.
• Short evening photo walk: city lights, reflections, and long exposures around Centennial Park.

Day 2 – Thursday / ATL in Motion
• Morning: Oakland Cemetery — architecture, sculpture, light, and narrative composition in one of the city’s most historic landmarks.
• Afternoon: Krog Street Tunnel, Belt Line and surrounding neighborhood — street art, textures, color, and layered visual storytelling.
• Evening: Optional blue-hour session downtown focusing on motion and urban contrast.

Day 3 – Friday / Forgotten Frames
• Full-day excursion to Old Car City and Savoy Automobile Museum.
• Focus on texture, rust, design, and storytelling through detail and decay.
• Return to Atlanta hotel in the evening.

Day 4 – Saturday / Gardens & Light
• Morning: Drive to Gibbs Gardens.
• Focus on landscape composition, macro, and color harmony.
• Lunch at the garden café.
• Light and composition exercises around ponds and forest paths before returning to Atlanta.

Day 5 – Sunday / Legacy & Waterfalls
• Morning: Martin Luther King Jr. Historic District — architecture, emotion, and documentary storytelling (Visitor Center, Ebenezer Baptist Church, King Center, and Birth Home area).
• Afternoon: Vickery Creek Falls & Roswell Mill — motion, natural light, and water photography techniques.
• Evening: Farewell dinner and group photo recap in Atlanta.

Day 6 – Monday / Departure Morning
• Optional sunrise shoot at Piedmont Park or along the Beltline.
• Final reflections and departures.

What to Bring

For DSLR/Mirrorless Users

• Camera body + lenses (24–70 mm and 70–200 mm recommended).
• Tripod & ND filters for waterfalls and long exposures.
• Extra batteries & memory cards.
• Lens cleaning kit and microfiber cloth.

For Mobile Photographers

• Smartphone with at least 3 GB space available.
• Portable power bank.
• Small tripod or stabilizer.
• Optional clip-on lenses (wide or telephoto).

Clothing & Essentials

• Comfortable walking shoes.
• Light jacket (mornings can be cool, especially near the falls).
• Sunscreen & insect repellent.
• Hat & sunglasses.
• Reusable water bottle.
• Small backpack for daily outings.

• Each day’s schedule may adjust slightly to take advantage of the best light conditions.
